WHAT WE DO
Our programmes re-create the type of play that earlier generations used to enjoy, days spent roaming with mates, scavenging for bits and bobs, building tree huts, deconstructing for the pure joy of seeing what’s inside. This type of play is crucial for development of resilience and problem-solving skills, plus vital awareness of where our resources come from and how to care for the natural world that is fundamental to our survival.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES
For a full immersion in the Noughty Wasters experience, check out our holiday programme, running 9am - 3pm for children aged 4-12. We spend mornings in the makerspace and afternoons outdoors, either building additions to our cherished tree hut, constructing giant marble runs out of guttering, or heading out in the neighbourhood for adventures.
Keen to come but would like to stick around with your child? Ask us about becoming a parent volunteer and attend sessions at a discounted rate. OR have a 12-16 year old ready for the next challenge? Encourage them to apply for our youth internship programme here.
FAMILY SESSIONS
This one’s for the grown-ups too! Join us for weekend sessions where you can construct and de-construct to your heart’s content, all with items otherwise destined for landfill! Make a collaborative creation to take home, rig up a tyre swing together outside, or just enjoy watching your child socialise and have an engaging play experience while you meet like-minded local families.
WORKSHOPS
Ready for a deep dive into new skills? Our workshops are the next step for 8-14 year olds looking for creative challenges. Run by passionate and experienced facilitators, our workshops offer experiences in wearable arts, printmaking, basic machines, robotics, carpentry, and electronics among other topics.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Looking for a unique way to celebrate your child’s special day? Join us at Noughty Wasters for a celebration to remember. You will not believe the joy on their faces when they get to pick their goodie bag of pre-loved treasures! A beautiful way to share your passion for reduce, reuse and recycle with the community around you.
"Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child's soul."
